FAMILY

Family is the nucleus of the society. So, it is also a subject of satan’s attacks. Even though it is meant to be a breeding ground for talents, some have wondered if that Is still achievable these days. We cannot talk about a family without being conscious of the individuals that make it up. Everybody has a role to play but it is good to know that when the head is rotten, the whole body is affected but healing can still come from within. So, it is not a bad idea to keep trying. A bad soul can be changed but while at it, do not allow yourself to be killed. Your death does not liberate a soul. It worsens the situation. In fact, it complicates everything. So, strive to be alive by all means possible. At the most, do not let the situation get out of hand! Let us also know that it is not an example of martyrdom when someone dies through domestic violence. The truth is that the person died as a victim and not as a martyr as some people might dishonestly opine! In fact, death through marital tussles is uncalled for!

All these are obtainable when the purpose of marriage is defeated. In the absence of that, peace can reign everywhere! I have always said one thing, if you cannot help people, at least, do not hurt them. 

Family is filled with love when everybody knows what is expected of him or her and do them so long as they are permitted within the confines of the laws governing the society and also appeal to the law of human conscience. Right now, we have voluntarily lost what the definition of an ideal family should be but people opine that every family has one or two problems besieging it but how they make remedies available is what matters!

Always have a substitute for all your plans if you must succeed. The reason is because, when one plan fails and there is none else to replace it, your chances of achieving a goal are minimal. Let us not think that it is a shameful act to activate plan B. when those you always receive things from are no longer interested in giving to you, try to work for yourself so that you can get and then be able to give! It is also possible to be at the giving end! Just decide to say that enough is enough and you can be able to switch sides. When you are always expecting to receive, you are most likely not to be able to give! Make it a habit to be always giving and when it is your turn to receive, you do that with a grateful heart. That is how the society works; you can give help and receive help. 

Time will humble you, accept that. Pregnancy is not your mate. So, when you see a woman going through pregnancy, do not increase the pains for her! The best way to avoid beating a woman in the society is to see your loving mother in her. Whether dead or alive, you dare not. I know that in some cases, people can threaten, shout at or even disagree with their parents but it is seemingly impossible (in a functional society) for them to lay those dirty fingers of theirs on their parents. The reason is because there are consequences. If you see everything wrong in beating your mother, which thing should not even cross your mind, then you must see everything more disgustingly wrong in laying your filthy hands on a woman because she is somebody’s mother, daughter, sister, aunt, neighbour, helper, teacher, supporter and any other yummy thing you can think of.

Now, let me tell you a story: there was a time I went working at a construction site after my graduation and as fate would have it, I met different set of people. One was claiming to be spiritual, the other was claiming to be strong and the other was claiming to be alcoholic and no day passed without us hearing new things or maybe, old things with new touch of lies. So, one of the days, we were discussing, directly or indirectly, I was hearing everything and the one that was claiming to be spiritual was busy boasting about how that he used to be a serious member of one church like that and how that he used to fast a lot and also stayed away from temptations and a particular guy asked that was listening to him asked him; At what stage did you start avoiding women? In fact, he asked that question in such a way as to say that getting the correct answer to that question would solve all his problems that have to do with temptations!

Of course, temptations come from different angles including money or lack of it, laziness or inordinate ambitions and most importantly, politics or inability to handle one’s relationships.

It baffles me when one says that one is trying to keep oneself from stains by avoiding women. Come on, there are other angles that stains can come from even if women do not exist! So, you must be careful in all things! Avoiding women does not solve your problems. What solves your problem is self-control; the extent you go with them matters. If as a man you want to avoid women then I don’t know how that is possible because possibly, you still have a mother, you have a sister, you might get a wife and as well give birth to a girl child and they are all women or women in the making!

I really do not think that the young man answered the question at all because he didn’t have the answer! I mean, who does that? The truth is that you cannot even avoid temptations but you can overcome them. the reason is because if temptations could be avoided then nobody will be tempted again because no one wants to go through them! Now, listen to me, if as a man, you think that women are your problem then you are the problem because there is something wrong with your mindset. I guess you know that if God wanted women to be avoided then He would have put them in another planet because He is the Almighty that can do all things and there are still some ‘empty’ planets in the universe! Even the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ is a woman. So, let us give them their space!

In a family, there are things that the father of the house has to do, there are things the mother in the house has to do and there are things that the children born into a family have to do. And, if you ask me, I think women should be romantic, men should be hard working and also romantic while the children should be obedient because obedience comes with orderliness. 

Do not disrespect a woman because her people have seemingly nothing to offer! That woman that you look down on might be useful to you in a way and do not turn into a beast overnight because you have seen someone you think that you can beat. It is not what you think; the society can come to her aid when your activities leak. Go and check history, no one has ever supported a man when he is at loggerheads with a woman and do not fail to speak up when you are the one at the receiving end and you know, everybody is equal before the law. So, you can get justice.
