ALTAR

 An altar is a place of contact with some mightier spirit beings. I have not seen a person erecting an altar in the school premises though there can be a platform for speaking in most auditoriums! Most people erect altars for God in the public places of worship and in their own abodes while some can also erect altars for foul spirits. It all depends on purpose! Some people erect altars to afflict others while some do so to pacify their souls. No matter what happens, do not bow to images.

You know, some people would say that they don’t worship idols that they only bow to images of some specific people that they hold in great honour but those images actually have substances they are made of. Some of them are made with clay, some of them are made with cement and some of them are made with ceramics. It is only in design that they differ. If not, all of them made with materials that cannot breathe! Your car key can be an idol you worship even though you don’t know how. It is because anything you hold so dearly to yourself more than God becomes an idol to you whether that thing breathes or not. Pride can be the idol you worship if it is in your heart. 

To better express myself, let me just say that a plot of land can even be your god that you worship if you have made up your mind to kill somebody just to get it! It is that bad. Most ills that come into our societies emanate from people and we still claim that we don’t know what is wrong with the society! A polluted mind is more likely to encourage a toxic environment and to keep your sanity, stay from them. 

Erect an altar in your heart by following God’s instructions consistently and you can get these instructions directly from the Bible. As much as it is possible, associate with good people!
