Our actions are driven by our motives which of course, could be said to be the interests we have in a particular thing. If all your interest is in making money alone, you may end up piling up sorrows for yourself because you must be interested in helping others. Hence, the need to know when to do so. Some of us think that when somebody asks for our help, we must first of all know the angle the person is coming from, interrogate the person so as to know the person’s town, religious and political affiliations before we can be able to help the person or not. Doing so might hamper the little chance we have at saving a soul.
God did not create everybody to be equal. In fact, even our fingers are not equal. So, why expect everybody to be the same?
Life does not even treat us alike. Some are born into wealthy families whereas some are picked up from the streets and trash cans having to battle with cold and heat for their survival. How we treat them is what matters. The success of a tree is guaranteed by the willingness of the winds to disperse its fruits. If all we care about is our own bellies, then we are abruptly helpless to mankind because we can hardly look beyond our own noses talk more of knowing what other people’s problems are. And how can you solve a problem you don’t know? It never happens. Take it from me.
Come to think of it, how do you expect to make it in life if you are not interested in helping others meet their needs? The courier guy helps deliver something from one place to another and then gets paid.
Must you always blame nature for everything? Age might not be on your side but you have wisdom, use it. It is needless to say that nobody has it all. Hence, the need to hire the services of others when the need arises and not depend only on one’s capabilities.
In time to come, you would be remembered for what you did to others (whether the good or the bad). Worse still, the unborn generation would get to hear about it either through writing or oral narrations. Hence, the need to live rightly band do good things.
Nobody is fooled. If you are a cheat, everybody knows it. They are just trying to endure and tolerate you anytime you show up. It is not as though you could cheat them out anything and then think that you are wise. No, that is not wisdom. Wisdom is thinking about how to get out there and make things happen without having to hurt any person unduly. I think that is what still fetches Mark Zuckerberg (the owner of the Facebook app) money as we speak.
You can do same if you are devoid of your own selfish interests. If all your thoughts are about you, you cannot make a difference. In fact, you could get tired of hearing, “I this, I that, me this, me that and my, my and my.” from yourself all the time. Aren’t you tired of being selfish? Friend, I am. Let’s get out there and do something.
