DIARY OF A PDP DELEGATE

‘’When the pen dances furiously upon the pages of life;I will remember you! This is one of the motivational quotes that I have been hearing from my wife lately and I wondered what it is all about but I guess she was right!Maybe, destiny has remembered me. When I was nominated to be among those voting during the primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, I knew that there must be something there for me. After all, I have been a loyal member of the party and being a positive-minded person, I always think in that direction! So, when Ezeguy called me to send him my location, I did that ASAP not minding whose ox is gored. I am Alhaji Bello Odinaka and this is my story.

CHAPTER ONE

The drill was much as the presidential aspirant addressed us and every of his words pierced through souls. He was in a huge Hausa regalia while his security details, personal assistants and followers were decked in various outfits including corporate attires and we listened with rapt attention. In order to ascertain his level of sincerity, we asked him so many questions so as to know who to vote for and at the end of the day, we made conclusions and each delegate had his candidate at heart. His speech was so powerful that we had to bury our heads in our handkerchiefs as he spoke to us vehemently reminding us that the ruling party had ruined the lives of the populace and how that we needed to set a rescue mission on motion! As it was customary with us, we clapped our hands together for him after he had delivered the speech and thanks to the events planners, the place was well ventilated and it was shinning as we waited for the next action in line with our scale of preference called to-do list or programme of events. Before, we left that venue, we learnt the act of eating quietly.
