DIARY OF A PDP DELEGATE, 3

 CHAPTER THREE

That was how we found ourselves trooping into the venue for the convention after being briefed at our various hotel rooms sooner than later than we had arrived the city for the much expected national convention and we were in high spirits. Because the person I wanted to vote for had withdrawn from the race few days after I had made my firm resolves to vote him, I was left with no other option than to make an 11th hour adjustments. That was how I saw myself voting for the highest bidder. I had just received a call from my wife reminding me that the time to pay the children's school fees was around the corner and I had to do what I did. Sobs.

Ladies and gentlemen, that was how I found myself scampering for safety with some other delegates on our way back to the hotel rooms after we had left the guests who were being entertained behind. On our way back, we were accosted by certain hoodlums who were showing the grievances over the poor state of the nation by burning pieces of tire on the roads but we couldn't do anything as it was not our duty to enforce peace and order in the country.
